Global citizen program explores social media trend

With the growing influence of social media in today’s world, the 2013 Global Citizens Program will hold a 10-day visit from June 9-19 to Stanford University and Silicon Valley. About 30 young student leaders will be selected to participate in this tour to understand current social media trends and media design as well as meet co-founders of social media companies. Students must apply for this program no later than April 13 via the university. The Dragon Foundation initiated the program which is sponsored by the Foundation, funded personally by Dr Victor Fung, Chairman, and Dr William Fung(above), Deputy Chairman of the Li & Fung Group.

Win roundtrip tickets for two to United States

Students have an opportunity to show their creativity and get a free holiday. The Consulate General of the United States Hong Kong and Macau will hold a “My American Dream Contest” where applicants have a chance to win a vacation for two. Applicants aged 18 or above can send a one to two minute video, a short essay, a blog entry or a photo slideshow with captions explaining your own “American Dream”. PLA military training camp for students

To strengthen students’ national identity and awareness, the
third military
training camp will be
held from August
8-18 for Hong Kong university students. During 11 days, students will experience the military life of the mainland People’s Liberation Army stationed at Sun Wai Barracks in Fanling. Disciplinary training, patrol drills , firing weapons, visiting military and defence facilities are among the activities.
